VAT Refund through Electronic Portal in 2017

Under information of the General Department Of Taxation, the VAT refund through national electronic portal, was piloted in 13 provinces and cities and by the end of the first quarter I in 2017, will be expanded to deploy throughout the country.

VAT Refund through Electronic Portal in 2017

According to information of the General Department Of Taxation at the recent press conference, the VAT refund through electronics, was piloted in 13 provinces and cities and by the end of the first quarter in 2017, will be expanded to deploy throughout the country.

As for the content of electronic VAT refund, Ms. Le Thi Duyen Hai, Director of Accounting and Tax declaration, said that in 2016, the electronic tax service plan piloted in 13 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Da Nang, Can Tho, Quang Ninh, Kon Tum, Khanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Binh Thuan, Thai Nguyen. These are the provinces and cities have large tax refund amount. And they lead in the reform of tax administrative procedures in the country. 

Ms. Hai also stated that tax refund application can be submitted to tax authorities or through the electronic portal of the General Department of Taxation. This will save time in the process of settling the VAT reimbursement for both taxpayers and tax authorities than direct way or by post.

For electronic VAT refund process, the General Department of Taxation showed that electronic portal will automatically update records of electronic request for tax refund on the tax management system (TMS) to handle.

 

TMS automatically checks the basic rules on the tax refund request of taxpayers. In case of the successful update, TMS transit the application processing to electronic portal of General Department of Taxation to create Notification of submission and time limit to give the result of electronic tax refund to taxpayers ...

 

The process of settlement of tax refund at tax offices are also constantly updated, publicly and transparently on the electronic portal of General Department of Taxation to help taxpayers know about the status of tax refund dossiers.
