 You have to know, if you want to earn money from the clients as a lawyer, you must have lawyers skills, like a lot of them. You have to think like a lawyer. So, how to do so? 

You may ask us that when studying at Judicial Academy, you have already been taught much and read much about lawyer’s skills, so what other skills “thinking like a lawyer” can teach you? My answer is this book only presents one skill, it is in the second step of consulting progress or settling a dispute that you have to solve, before you can do the rest stages. This step is very important because it decides the solution that you will offer your client.

Thinking progress in order to consult or solve a dispute often has the following tasks:

i)                   Understand the case which your client told you by text or speech;

ii)                Analyzing the case’s events; find out their law field (civil, criminal, administrative law); set up legal questions;

iii)              Applying on legal system, real life and customs to find the answer;

iv)              Offering  solutions;

v)                Suggesting the most convinced solution to your client; writing prosecution application according to client’s opinion.

The content of this book is in the second stage and a part of the third stage. The first one is the main one, the following one is the subsidiary one which is added to the presentation more complete.

For that task, part 1, I explain the meaning of “thinking like a lawyer”: what is it, why using it, the must-have conditions to use it. Part 2, I present the way to “think like a lawyer”, which means what to do and how to do. Part 3, you will practice. Finally, there is the opened part. That is the book construction.

I must say for you to understand. What I focus on this book is collecting events, cases in order to analyze; they come from real life that I have collected from reports and different verdicts; however I do not write down the resource, verdict’s number, … because I want you guys to just care about the real cases or events. This is “vocational book” not “study book”. Moreover, because you want to have a tool which is still ambiguous, sometime I have to emphasize, identify, and repeat some points. (to be continued)
